URL Shortener

Paste any long URL and our shortener generates a short link under the wtfdomain.com domain. When someone clicks the short link, our server performs a 301 redirect to the original URL. Click data is recorded so you can see how many times your link has been accessed. No login is required — just paste and shorten.

Short links created on WTFDomain are permanent and do not expire by default. They will continue to redirect as long as the service is running. If you need temporary links with an expiry date, this feature may be added in a future update.

After shortening a URL, you receive a short link and a stats page URL. Visit the stats page to see the total click count and click history for that link. For advanced analytics like geographic data, device types, and referrer sources, consider using UTM parameters in your original URL and tracking through Google Analytics.

URL shorteners are useful for sharing long, complex URLs on social media where character limits apply (Twitter/X), in SMS messages, in email campaigns, or in printed materials like QR codes. Short links are also more visually appealing, easier to type manually, and allow you to track engagement metrics like click counts.

Short links created on WTFDomain only redirect to the URL you provide — no hidden redirects or malware. For unknown short links from other services, you can inspect the destination by adding a "+" to the end (works on Bitly) or using a link preview service. Always be cautious clicking short links from unknown sources, as they can hide phishing sites.
